Citation M2 — Cessna

Cessna · Light jet

Citation M2

The CJ1+ reborn — the entry Citation in current production, soon the first of its class with Autoland.

The current-production entry Citation — short sectors, single-pilot economics.

The Citation M2 carries the original CJ airframe into the present: the CJ1+'s proven fuselage and wing, re-equipped as Cessna's current entry-level jet. The Gen2 refined the cabin and added autothrottle; the Gen3, which first flew in June 2026, will bring Garmin Emergency Autoland to this class for the first time when it arrives in 2027.

Its honest mission is the short sector flown simply — five or six aboard, an hour or two in the air, at the most approachable operating economics of any Citation in production.

Frequently asked

How far can a Citation M2 fly?

Up to 1,550 nautical miles lightly loaded, with around 1,100 to 1,300 the honest planning band with four aboard — the capital-city pairs and coastal runs, not the Tasman, which we route on longer-legged types.

What is the difference between the M2 and the CJ1+?

The M2 is the CJ1+'s direct continuation — same fuselage and wing, modernised systems and cabin, in production today. The Gen2 added autothrottle; the coming Gen3 adds Garmin Emergency Autoland, a first for the entry-jet class.

How much does an M2 cost to charter?

Among the most accessible jets available, where one is positioned near your mission — Australian supply is thin, so we confirm availability honestly and propose the deep CJ2/CJ3 fleet when the calendar favours it.
