The CJ1 took the CitationJet formula and modernised the front office: Collins Pro Line 21 flat-panel avionics — among the earliest glass cockpits in the entry-jet class — plus a useful bump in take-off weight and fuel. The cabin kept the proven club-four arrangement that made its predecessor a charter staple.
Only 198 were built before the CJ1+ evolution, and nearly all of them are still flying — a quiet testament to how much aircraft this airframe puts into a modest operating budget.
