The CJ2 is where the CitationJet grew up: thirty-three more inches of cabin, uprated FJ44-2C engines, and a ceiling raised to 45,000 feet — above the weather and the airline flow. It kept the single-pilot simplicity and added the legs and lift that turned the CJ from a city-pair aircraft into a genuine regional traveller.
Its 1,511-nautical-mile range with four aboard covers the whole eastern seaboard and reaches deep into the interior, with six seated in comfort — the template the CJ2+ would later refine.

How does the CJ2 differ from the CJ2+?
The CJ2+ that followed added FADEC engines and updated avionics on the same stretched airframe. In the cabin they are near-identical — six seats and the same cross-section — so availability and figure usually decide between them.
