The Citation XLS gave the Excel its first polish: uprated PW545B engines and the Primus 1000 glass suite, climbing to altitude markedly faster on the way to the same beloved stand-up cabin. Three hundred and thirty were built before the XLS+ took over.

What did the XLS change over the Excel?

More thrust and a glass cockpit — the PW545B engines climb faster and cruise quicker, and the Primus 1000 suite modernised the front office. The cabin carried over untouched, which was rather the point.

XLS or XLS+ — does it matter?

To passengers, rarely — the cabin is identical. The XLS+ adds FADEC engines and Pro Line 21 up front, and prices accordingly. We propose whichever the calendar and the figure favour.
